A scale gives you one number. Body composition is four.
Water, protein, minerals, fat. Two people at 168 lb can be built completely differently. The scan shows which one you are.
Intracellular and extracellular. Where most of you lives.
The building blocks of muscle.
Bone and the salts in your blood.
Essential plus stored. The one most people chase.
One sheet. Everything an InBody scan measures.
This is what you walk out with, and what your account keeps forever. Tap Week 8 to see how a rescan reads next to the first one.
Out of 100. More muscle, less fat, higher score.
Lean mass by segment
Week 0: the baseline. Not a grade, just a starting point. Everything after this is measured against it.
Skeletal muscle mass
The muscle you can train. Up is the goal, almost always.
Body fat mass & %
In pounds, not just a percentage, so you can see what moved.
Segmental lean
Each arm, each leg, trunk. Imbalances show up here first.
Visceral fat level
The fat around your organs. The health number.
Basal metabolic rate
What you burn at rest. The floor for how much to eat.
InBody Score
One number for the trend. Up and to the right.
The scale said nothing happened. Body fat and muscle said otherwise.
Eight weeks of training. Down one pound. A scale would call that failure. Underneath: nearly four pounds of muscle on, six pounds of fat off.
Illustrative eight-week change for someone training three to four times a week. Your numbers are yours.
How it works: scan, read, train, rescan.
The scan is the easy part. The point is the loop: a baseline, a plan, and a second scan that proves it worked.
- 01 · 60 seconds
Scan
Stand on the device, hold the handles. Eight electrodes, six frequencies, no pinching, no water tank. You feel nothing.
- 02 · ~10 minutes
Read it with a pro
Your sheet, explained in plain English. Where the muscle is, where the fat is, what the numbers mean for how you should train and eat.
- 03 · 6 to 8 weeks
Train
Classes, strength, both. You know the plan because you know the baseline.
- 04 · 60 seconds
Rescan
Same device, same conditions. Now the change is a fact, not a feeling. Members scan again for $25.
How to prepare for your InBody scan.
- 01
Hydrate normally
Not extra, not less. Water is most of the measurement.
- 02
Two hours clear
No big meal, alcohol, caffeine or hard training beforehand.
- 03
Skip the lotion
Clean, dry hands and feet make better contact.
- 04
Shorts or leggings
You're barefoot on the plate, holding two handles.
- 05
Same time, next time
Rescan at the same hour under the same conditions.

InBody scan questions, answered.
- What does an InBody scan actually measure?
- Weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass and body fat percentage, total body water, basal metabolic rate, visceral fat level, and lean mass in each arm, each leg and your trunk. It gives you an InBody Score out of 100 that moves as your muscle goes up and your fat goes down.
- How accurate is it?
- The InBody 570 uses direct segmental multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance: eight electrodes, three frequencies, no statistical fudge for age or gender. In studies it tracks closely with DEXA. Where it shines is consistency: scan under the same conditions and the change between scans is real.
- How long does it take?
- About 60 seconds on the device. We book 30 minutes so a trained pro can walk you through the sheet and what it means for how you train and eat. Most people are out in 20.
- How should I prepare?
- Hydrate like a normal day. No big meal, alcohol, caffeine or hard workout in the two hours before. Skip lotion on your hands and feet. Wear shorts or leggings — you're barefoot, holding two handles. If you're rescanning, same time of day as last time.
- Is it safe?
- It passes a very small, imperceptible electrical current through your body. It's safe for nearly everyone. If you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, or you're pregnant, skip it or check with your doctor first.
- Do I need to be a member?
- No. Anyone can book. The scan is $30; members pay $25, and the discount is applied when you sign in. If you join after your scan, the next one is at the member price.
- How often should I rescan?
- Every six to eight weeks. That's long enough for real change in muscle and fat, short enough to course-correct. Your results page keeps every scan side by side.
- Can I move or cancel?
- Yes. Free up to 24 hours before, from the link in your confirmation text. Cancel in time and the full amount goes back to your card.
